It’s International Women’s Day. Today we honour the incredible contributions women have made to all aspects of life – science, arts, sports, history, law, business, etc.
We are inspired and excited by their life stories and measurable success, and admire them for their courage and fortitude.
Today we honour the less measurable, less quantifiable successes of women in all aspects of life. Moms, wives, sisters, aunts, grandmothers, friends, nieces, granddaughters. Women who may never feature an article on the cover of Time Magazine, but who make up the heart of our lives. The ones who step in and step up in innumerable ways.
Today we honour the women who are struggling. The women working two jobs, or crying in their corner of the world, or who cannot get out of bed today.
Today we honour women who were born with female sex organs, and women who were not. Women who struggle to be seen and to live their truth and to live fully as themselves.
Today we honour women. All women. Everywhere.
Happy Women’s Day 2021. We see you. We love you. We honour you.
