I have always loved unique accessories – a yellow raincoat that made me look like a high liner, converse sneakers covered in gold sequins, leggings with comic book characters all over them – so when my grandmother, mom and I found these Kate Spade slip on sneakers, with their taxi motif, they were impossible to resist. It isn’t easy to build a business. It’s a long road, it’s a hard road and there are people in your life who will caution you against it. “Slow down,” they’ll say. “There’s no reason to work this hard.” Or “We haven’t seen you in forever,” they’ll try to guilt you. It’s unfortunate that every budding entrepreneur doesn’t come with their own hype squad but you can’t let it stop you and you shouldn’t let it distract you. They don’t need to understand your dreams, they don’t even need to support them. This is YOUR dream which means YOU’RE the one who’s going to have to do the work. I love coffee. I know, you’re shocked. I keep it a big secret. But weekend morning coffee is my favourite. I get to sleep in until 7:30 or 8, sit at my table with Dave and enjoy a mug of coffee WHILE IT’S STILL HOT! Seriously, you guys! Have you even had a hot cup of coffee??
