Kahlil Gibran – Salt Is Strangely Sacred

I find myself most at peace by the sea. The ocean calms me and speaks to me in a way that no other place can. I love the vibrancy of a city, and beauty of the forest, but I feel most centred at sea. On a beachside, with my toes buried in the sand, the wind whipping my curls, and the sound of the waves crashing against the shore, the tangy salt air, the damp freshness. This is my home. For some, the beach is a place to visit on a sunny day, and while I admit that the beach is Gloriana on in the sunshine, I am just as apt to find myself at the shore in the rain or on a gloomy day.

It is hard for me to say what it is about the Ocean that my soul connects to, but connect it does, and so I go seeking the manna that it needs. And like a miracle, I feel replenished and content.
