Talking As Fast As I Can: From Gilmore Girls to Gilmore Girls (and Everything In Between) – Lauren Graham (2016)

❤️❤️❤️❤️

Lauren Graham’s book is not a memoir. It is not an autobiography. It is a very funny collection of clever essays about her life, her habits, her successes and her relationships. Fans of Gilmore Girls will be pleased to find that Talking As Fast As I Can reads as though Lorelai Gilmore wrote a book about Lauren Graham’s life – the pace and humour is exactly what fans hope to find when they picked up this book. Fans of Parenthood will find affectionate anecdotes about her cast mates and her time on the show. I was personally touched by her essay on writing her first novel, and the sexism and expectations she faced when moving into a second artistic realm. Overall, Graham’s book is engaging and delightful, just as her fans hope she would be, should they sit down for a steaming swimming pool-sized cup of coffee with her. At 205 pages, Talking is a quick, and enjoyable read, filled with funny personal photos, and quirky jocularity.
