The Life-Changing Magic of Not Giving A F*ck: How To Stop Spending Time You Don’t Have With People You Don’t Like Doing Things You Don’t Want To Do – Sarah Knight (2015)

❤️❤️❤️

By now almost everyone is aware of Marie Kondo’s KonMari Method for tidying up their homes. You throw everything you own on the floor in the middle of a room, and touch each thing. If it doesn’t spark joy, it’s gone. Well, Sarah Knight took a humorous (and delightfully foul-mouthed) approach to using this method to tidy up your life. She calls it the NotSorry Method. At it’s core, Not Giving a F*ck is a self help book that teaches the reader the value of setting reasonable boundaries in relationships, at work and other obligations. Knight wants the reader to stop feeling guilty for hating baby showers, not wanting to attend soccer games for kids that aren’t even yours, not donating to a coworkers efforts save polar bears, or feeling obligated to donate to random Kickstarting projects. She argues that we waste far too much time attending Party Lite parties, and too little time saving the $50 (that you ended up spending on a candle you didn’t want, just to make your friend leave you alone) for something you do want. It is a fun take on the self help book, and as long as you aren’t offended by the F-bomb, it’s worth reading. If you are, I promise that almost any other boundary setting how to book will cover much of the same. I enjoyed it, and officially gave #zerofcks to the shocked man reading over my shoulder. 194 pages.
