Abby Wambach, former Co-captain of the Women’s Team USA soccer team, Gold Medalist, New York Times Bestselling Author, activist, wife, bonus mom, etc. is someone that I look up to. Her story and her presence is magical, and I was really looking forward to reading her newest book, WOLFPACK. I love the message, and will have both of my kids read this book as they get older; the idea that we are all worthwhile, that we all have something to offer and that we are all one team, particularly as women. The term WOLFPACK comes from a TED talk Wambach saw, describing how reintroducing wolves into Yellowstone national park saved the eco-system. She realized that we, as women, as HUMANS, are the wolves – if we show up with our “howl” (our skills, specialities, etc.) we each contribute to making the world more balanced.

Laid out as 8 new rules for “changing the game”, this very slim book is one of the quickest reads that I have flown through recently. I truly wish that the page count exceeded 92 pages, especially as certain pages, particularly those that list the Call of the Wolfpack (a mantra of sorts, for each of the 8 rules) is barely more than a few lines each.

This book is certainly worth reading, and worth sharing, and would be best for young adults, or teams (professional or personal) that need to be reminded of the value of coming together to make meaningful change.
