Hospital Update – Dave came through the surgery fine. He has received the ileostomy (reversible) instead of the colostomy (permanent). We have not yet seen his surgeon and won’t until at least tomorrow.
He is resting, but quite uncomfortable. He cannot have visitors for a little while yet, at least until they can get his pain under control.
That said – he is being a trooper and taking an active role in his own recovery, doing everything recommended by the nurses and doctors to help himself move through the recovery as quickly as possible.
Thank you all so much for your messages and prayers and vibes and energy. We are so grateful to have you. I am sorry if I have not replied individually to a message and will be replying over the next days as he improves, too!
We appreciate that many of you would like to see him, but for now the doctors want him to rest and work through his pain as much as possible.
