You have heard me speak that Dave and I have been partners for 20 years, right? Well, a friend of ours, that we have known since we started dating came across this picture of Baby Kali and Baby Dave and sent it to me last night. In this picture, we were in high school, he was 15 and I was 16. I was wearing my favourite high liner yellow raincoat, Dave was wearing his Umbro soccer windbreaker, and we had no idea that we would be together for the rest of our lives. When you are in high school, you think everything will be “forever”, but you have no idea what forever really means. We did not know that forever would mean bouts of depression, a baby with reflux, health issues spanning from Fibromyalgia, all the way to Stage 3 Cancer, the challenges of marriage and parenthood, many jobs, and many, many iterations of ourselves. We did not know that we would fall down many, many times, and would actively have to choose each other and to choose to love each other over and over and over again.

Thank you, Tamryn, for finding this and sending it to me. It is such a good reminder of where we were 20 years ago and where we are now 🙂
